Matundu Cottage Beach Resort

We’re looking for a Trainee Manager to join our team at Matundu Cottage Beach Resort in Salima. This role is ideal for someone with around 4 years’ experience in the hospitality industry who is s ready to step up, take charge, and grow into a full senior managerial position over time.

You must be:

  • Hands-on – get involved in the daily operations to ensure quality control
  • Self-sufficient – able to manage tasks with minimal supervision and able to think on their own.
  • Active and present – always on the ground, not just in the office on a laptop.
  • Determined to grow – someone who sees this as a stepping stone to bigger leadership roles.
  • Have some experience with costing and finance – someone who understands the numbers, can make detailed reports of activities and records expenses.

We’re looking to build a strong, motivated team, and we want people who are:

  • Willing to learn fast and contribute fully
  • Ready to take on responsibility early and be part of a growing resort
  • Comfortable working in Salima and managing resort life day-to-day

Interviews will be held in Lilongwe at Matundu Cottage Head Offices

Accommodation is not provided in Salima for employees, so make sure you’re able to sort out your own arrangements if selected.

The ideal candidate for this position will succeed in this role if they have both knowledge and technical depth about the industry. This is essential as they will be a central person in the decision making process, working with multiple individuals across different teams when necessary. As a result, they will also be overseeing specific personnel.
