Overview

The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Laws of Malawi. Its core business is to procure, transmit and distribute electric power in Malawi as well as managing System Market Operations and Single Buyer Licensees. ESCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified former Linespersons to fill the following vacant positions currently existing within the Corporation on a three-month fixed-term contract.

Temporary Linespersons (South-Kabula Zone) 7 positions

Grade: ES 12
Location: Regional Office (Kabula Zone)
Supervised by: Senior Zone Supervisor

Purpose of the Job

To construct a 33kV Overhead Line from Nkula to Chileka

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Constructing a 33 kV Line and other duties assigned from time to time
Assisting the Senior Zone Supervisor in mobilizing resources for operations in the construction of 33kV OVHL
Monitoring and ensuring that construction of 33 kV Overhead Line is carried out timely and appropriately.
Preparing and presenting appropriate reports to Senior Zone Supervisor as required from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate must possess a Power Linesperson Certificate plus a
Malawi Schools Certificate of Education (MSCE)
Applicants must have a minimum of one-year work experience as a power linesperson
Applicants must have a clean record
