Key Responsibilities:
The Library Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the school’s library. The Library Manager acquires, organises and maintains resources that support the learning needs of children in
the school, including print, audio-visual, online and e-learning materials. The Library Manager also
administers the school’s inventory system and makes sure the stock is presented in an accessible
way using the Junior Librarian Integrated Management System – a web-based library management system. The Library Manager conducts weekly library classes and works with children in all year groups from Reception to Year Six. The Library Manager maintains a well-organised library with resources organised to support fiction and non-fiction reading both within and outside the Accelerated Reader program. The Library Manager works with the teaching staff to support and
promote excitement for Reading across the school.
Essential qualifications & skills
- Degree in Library and Information Science
- Teaching degree or relevant experience working in a school
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a librarian with experience using a digital library management system
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Computer Literate in Word, Excel, information management and ability to troubleshoot new technologies
- Passionate about reading and children’s books
