The Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) is an ecumenical association of Church-owned facilities in Malawi and the Secretariat is the central coordination unit of the Association. CHAM is the second largest provider of health services in Malawi with 187 Health Facilities and 11 Training Colleges which are located in all parts of the country. Most of the Health Facilities are situated in the remote and hard-to-reach areas. The objectives of CHAM are to facilitate, provide technical support, and develop health services among all member facilities in order to achieve equity in access to health care, patient care and in all matters, to act for the benefit of the people of Malawi.

CHAM Secretariat invites applications for the position of Sales and Marketing Intern as follows:

Position: SALES AND MARKETING INTERN

Department: Health Services

Reports to: Pharmacy Manager

 

Purpose of the Position

To support the effective operation of CHAM’s wholesale pharmacy by combining sales and marketing efforts to increase revenue, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve pharmaceutical supply chain efficiency for health facilities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Checking supplies leaving the pharmacy.
  2. Responding to requests for quotations (RFQ).
  3. Assisting in processing and dispatching supplies to clients and ensuring dispatched supplies are received by clients.
  4. Sending invoices and delivery notes to clients who have ordered electronically.
  5. Assisting in monthly stock taking of the DRF.
  6. Assisting in the development, designing and distribution of marketing materials for the DRF.
  7. Assisting in implementation of sales and marketing strategies to increase awareness and sales within CHAM facilities and other potential clients.
  8. Supporting in managing customer relationships and sales processes.
  9. Assisting in conducting market analysis and research on trends, needs, gaps and areas of improvement to grow the DRF business.
  10. Assisting in preparing monthly sales and marketing performance reports to guide decision-making.
  11. Maintaining organized records of all transactions, marketing campaigns and client interactions.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Degree in Marketing, Business Administration/Management or any related field.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
