Mchinji District Council
Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions existing at Mchinji District Council (MDC).
1. Post: Chief Nursing Officer
Grade: F/M3
Salary: Within Grade F/M3, Government Salary Structure.
Qualifications
Applicants must be serving Principal Nursing Officers (Grade G/M4) with at least 4 years’ experience at that grade in the Local Councils, and be registered with Nurses Council of Malawi with a valid Annual Practicing license.
2. Post: Principal Health Promotion Officer
Grade: G/M4
Salary: Within Grade G/M4 Government Salary Structure.
Qualifications
Applicants must be serving Senior Health Promotion officers (Grade H/M5) regardless of experience or Health Promotion officers (Grade I/M6) with at least (4) years’ experience at that grade in the Local Councils.
3. Post: Senior Health Preventive Officer
Grade: H/M5
Salary: Within Grade H/M5 Government Salary Structure.
Qualifications
Applicants must be serving Environmental Health Officers (Grade I) with at least Four (4) years’ experience at that grade in the Local Councils and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
4. Post: Principal Accountant
Grade: G/M4
Salary: Within Grade G/M4 Government Salary Structure.
Qualifications
Applicants must be serving Accountants ( Grade I/M6) with a minimum of four(4) year experience at that grade in the Local Councils.
5. Posts: Chief Community Development Officer
Grade: F/M3
Salary: Within Grade F/M3 Government Salary Structure.
Qualifications
Applicants must be serving Principal Community Development Officers ( Grade G/M4) with at least 4
years’ experience at that grade in the Local councils.
6. Post: Chief Social and Child Welfare Officer
Grade: F/M3
Salary: Within Grade F/M3 Government Salary Structure
Qualifications
Applicants must be serving Principal Social and child Welfare officer (Grade G/M4) with at least 4 years’ experience at that grade in the Local Councils.
7. Post: Project Officer
Grade: I/M6
Salary: Within Grade I/M6 Government Salary Structure
Qualifications
Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management or Economics, from accredited Institutions.
7. Post : Fisheries Assistant
Grade: L/M9
Salary: Within Grade L/M9 Government Salary Structure
Educational
Applicants must be in possession of Certificate in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Marine biology, aquatic science, obtained from accredited institutions.
8. Post: Agriculture Officer
Grade: I/M6
Salary: Within Grade I/M6 Government Salary Structure

Applicants must be Serving Senior AEDO (Grade J) with at least four (4) years’ experience at that grade in Local councils or in possession of Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Crops and Agriculture General obtained from accredited institutions.
9. Post : Assistant Veterinary Officer
Grade: K/M8
Salary: Within Grade K/M8 Government Salary Structure
Qualifications
Applicants must be serving senior veterinary assistants (Grade L) with at least four (4) years’ experience at that grade in the Local Councils or in possession of a Diploma in veterinary Science obtained from accredited institution.
10. Post: Assistant Agriculture Extension Development Officer
Grade: K/M8
Salary: Within Grade K/M8 Government Salary Structure
Qualifications
Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Agriculture obtained from accredited institution.
11. Post: Copy Typist
Grade: M/M10
Salary: Within Grade M/M10 Government Salary Structure
Qualifications
Applicants must be in possession of certificate in Basic computer skills and proficiency in typing (usually 40 – 60 words per minute) Familiarity with Microsoft office application such as Word and Excel obtained from accredited institute
12. Post: Building Supervisor
Grade: K/M8

Educational Qualifications
Applicants must be in possession of Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building or Construction Site Management obtained from accredited institute
13. Post: Statistician
Grade: I/M6
Salary: Within Grade I/M6 Government Salary Structure
Qualifications
Applicants must be Serving Senior Assistant Statistician (Grade J/M7) with minimum of four (4) years’ experience at that grade in Local Authorities or in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics obtained from accredited institute.
14. Post: Personal Secretary
Grade: I/M6
Salary: Within Grade I/M6 Government Salary Structure
Qualification
Applicants must be serving Senior Stenographer (Grade J/M7) with minimum of Four years’ experience at that grade in the local councils or in possession of degree or in secretarial studies, office administration, Business Administration Typing certificate of 60-80 word per minute.
14. Post: Principal Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Grade: G/M4
Salary: Within Grade G/M4 Government Salary Structure
Qualification
Applicants must be serving Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Grade I/M6) with minimum of four years’ experience at that grade.
