The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established throughAct of Parliament No. 33 of 2022. 1. SENIOR ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN (TENABLE AT KANENGO CAMPUS)
Job Summary:
To lead and manage the Campus library services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
a Management
b Information Literacy
c Readers’ Services
d Cataloguing and Classification
e Systemsf Stock Management
Qualification and other attributes:
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or related fields from an accredited or recognised institution by the National Council for Higher Education.
- 5 years’ experience in managing a library in a higher education or comparable institution.
2. CHIEF LIBRARY ASSISTANT (2 POSITIONS, ONE PER CAMPUS)
Job Summary:
To provide support in the provision of library services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
a Reader Services
b Cataloguing and Classification
c Stock Management
Qualification and other attributes:
- Diploma in library information Sciences and from an accredited or recognised institution by the National Council for Higher Education.
- 4 years’ experience in managing a library.
3. SENIOR LIBRARY ASSISTANT (TENABLE AT MPEMBA CAMPUS)
Job Summary:
To support the implementation of specific library services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
a Reader Servicesb Cataloguing and Classification
Qualification and other attributes:
- Malawi Library Association Certificate and;
- Malawi School Certificate of Education.
- 2 years’ experience in library operations.
4. LIBRARY ASSISTANT (4 POSITIONS TENABLE AT MPEMBA CAMPUS)
Job Summary:
To support general library services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
a General Library Service

- Malawi Library Association of Malawi (MALA) certificate.
- Malawi School Certificate of Education.
5. LIBRARY COMMISSIONAIRE (4 POSITIONS, TWO PER CAMPUS)
Job Summary:
To provide general library security services.

7. REPROGRAPHER (TENABLE AT MPEMBA CAMPUS)
Job Summary:
To offer printing. photocopying and basic bindery services.

a. Reprography
b. Machine maintenance

8. SENIOR STUDENT WELFARE OFFICER (TENABLE AT KANENGO CAMPUS)
