Good Neighbors International-Malawi (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) with its headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Good Neighbors implements various community development projects within the following sectors; Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture and Social Welfare (advocacy for children’s rights other livelihood projects and emergency response. In order to efficiently and effectively execute its duties, GNI is inviting applications from suitably qualified, passionate, dynamic, pro-active and experienced candidates to fill the following existing vacant positions as follows:
Job Title : Human Resources Officer
Location: Head Office, Lilongwe, Malawi
Line reporting: Administration Manager
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruitment and Selection: Coordinate the recruitment process, including advertising job openings, shortlisting candidates, and organizing interviews.
- Onboarding and Orientation: Facilitate onboarding processes for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including contracts, personal details, and performance evaluations.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, review, and implement HR policies and ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational guidelines.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits.
- Performance Management: Coordinate performance support managers in setting objectives and conducting evaluations.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and organize professional development programs to build employee capacity.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a mediator to resolve workplace conflicts and foster positive relationships among staff.
- Compliance and Legal Affairs Ensure compliance with labor laws, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
- Health and Safety: Promote workplace health and safety measures, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Disciplinary: Handle disciplinary procedures, including investigations, hearings, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Leave Management: Track and manage employee leave requests, ensuring adherence to organizational policies.
- Staff Welfare and Engagement: Develop and implement programs to promote staff well-being, motivation, and retention.
- HR Reporting: Prepare regular HR reports, including staff turnover, training activities, and compliance status, for management review.
- Exit Management: Manage the offboarding process for departing staff, including exit interviews and clearance procedures.
Qualification and Experience
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or any related field from a recognized University.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a busy organization environment.
- Experience in performance management.
- Good knowledge of Labour/Employment Law
- General People management skills, negotiation skills, social dialogue and experience in resolving conflict
- Computer literate,
