Floresta is a Christian organization and a member of the Plant With Purpose Global Partnership. Floresta has just begun its work by targeting a few key watersheds in the Viphya Plateau region of northern Malawi because of its steep terrain, deforestation, and level of poverty. Floresta is currently looking for a Community Facilitator who pledge to God to serve communities with respect and establish partnerships to restore the environment and improve the economic stability of the people of Malawi as they create a brighter future, Ecclesiastes 4:9; Isaiah 40:31; Philippians 2:4.
1. COMMUNITY FACILITATOR
Reporting to: ER, EE and SR Officers
Location: Community Based Position
Impact Area: T/A Kabunduli, Nkhata-Bay district
Duration: February 2025- January 2026 (1 year)

Job Statement
- The Community Facilitator is responsible for:
- To facilitate/coordinate all activities (ER, EE and SR) at Lwafwa watershed.
- ·Supporting Floresta Officers in mobilizing the Communities when intending to conduct meetings, seminars, trainings etc at the watershed.
- Ensuring timely submission of all the necessary data by the Community volunteers (indigenous facilitators, Village Agents and Church representatives).
- When need arises, support Floresta in facilitating trainings organized by Floresta in Malawi.
- Support in the organization of field missions, supervision and monitoring of the implementation of Floresta activities.
- Collection of Monthly reports from the Community Volunteers and submit them to Programs Officers.
- Participate and contribute in all the meetings organized by Floresta at the water-shed.
- Representing Floresta in all the meetings organized by the Community leaders
- ·Attend all the Joint review meetings.
Key Competencies and Attributes
- A minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Agriculture or any other related fields.
- Must be able to work effectively independently, in a team situation, and supervisory capacity. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, excellent organization, communication, and writing skills.
- Good teamwork and networking skills.
- Three years of proven experience in a similar position in an NGO setting/Organization.
