Plasticycle is looking for machine operators who are technically competent, eager to learn and be part of a dynamic and growing team at our plant in Chirimba, Blantyre.

Job Title: Extrusion Machinery Operator

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Extrusion Machinery Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining extrusion machines used in the production of plastics. This role ensures that machinery runs efficiently and safely to produce quality products in accordance with company standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion machines according to production specifications and work orders.
• Adjust machine components and settings to control speed, temperature, pressure, and material feed
• Monitor the production process to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Inspect finished products for defects and measure product dimensions to verify conformance to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines to minimize downtime.
• Record production data, including quantity, time, and material usage.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production issues and improvements.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, MSCE or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience operating extrusion machinery (preferred).
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends if required.
