VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
ENGINEER – IP CORENETWORK

INTRODUCTION

Telekom Networks Malawi Plc (TNM) is looking for a suitably qualified person to join our team as a
Engineer – IP CoreNetworks.

Reporting to the Manager PS & IP Core, the IP Core Network Engineer shall be responsible for operations
and maintenance of TNM’s IP network including the Internet gateway.

1. Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Performs switching and routing configurations for end-to-end connectivity of all TNM systems.
• Performs troubleshooting and resolution of all internet and intranet service faults on IP Core network elements.
• Conducts regular network maintenance, including health checks & business continuity tests.
• Develops and implements TNM network security measures to safeguard the network from fraud, attacks, and revenue leakages.
• Implements own projects and supports all other projects on integration with existing systems.
• Carries out system upgrades and patch management.

2. Educational and professional Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering
  or bachelor’s degree in IT or any related field.
• Knowledge of Layer 2 & Layer 3 technologies – design, operations & maintenance.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux and Mobile technologies.
• Knowledge of database management
• Innovative with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
