About Us:

We are seeking an experienced Dog Handlers to join our team! As the Dog Handlers to the security, institution under Lion Cage Global Holdings plays a crucial role in caring, handling and training dogs for various purposes such search and rescue, guiding the blind, detection work or entertainment.

The personnel will be working closely with dogs to develop their skills, behavior and well-being.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Dogs care and maintenance: Provide daily care of dogs including feeding, grooming exercises and cleaning their living areas.
• Training and Socialization: Train dogs using positive reinforcement techniques; socialize them to various environments, people and situations.
• Handling and Restraints: Safely handle and restrain dogs for veterinary procedures, grooming or other situations.
• Behavioral Management: Monitor and manage dogs behavior, addressing any issues or concerns
• Records Keeping: Maintain accurate records of dogs behavior, training and healthy.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the trainers, Veterinarians and other stakeholders to ensure the well-being and success of the dogs.
• Safety and Emergency Procedures: Follow safety protocols and respond to emergencies such as dog escape or injuries

 

Requirements:

• Should have strong communication, situational awareness and decision-making skills to work effectively with their canine partners.
• 2+ years of experience handling dogs or completion of dog handling course.
• Proficient in report writing and working as a team.
• Able to lift 50 pounds stand for long periods and work in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of Malawi School Certificate of education
• Certification in dog handling, training or behavior.
• Experience handling specific breeds or types of dogs.
• Good management of dog’s welfare and feeding processes.
