SOS Children's Village

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

SOS Children’s Villages Malawi is a non-governmental child development organization founded in 1991. Its mission is to build families for children in need, empower them to shape their futures, and foster community development. A proud member of SOS Children’s Villages International, the organization operates in 136 countries worldwide.

SOS Children’s Villages Malawi is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct an endline evaluation for its Family Strengthening Programme. This program, implemented in the catchment areas of Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzimba, and Ngabu, aims to uplift the lives of vulnerable children and families.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The endline evaluation will assess the program’s success in achieving its intended outcomes, measure changes in key indicators compared to baseline data, and identify progress made, gaps, and any unintended outcomes including the lesson learnt and make recommendations for future programming.

CONSULTANT EXPERTISE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

  • Over 10 years of experience in project reviews and evaluations.
  • Expertise in family strengthening programs, education, gender, and/or alternative care policy advocacy.
  • Strong knowledge of research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Proven ability to collect, systematize, analyse, and interpret large volumes of data.
  • Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
  • Commitment to ethical evaluation practices and principles.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR EOI

Interested consultants are invited to submit an (EOI) comprising of not more than 5 pages with the following:

  • Cover Letter.
  • Capacity Statement.
  • Consultant Profile/Resume.
  • References.
  • Sample Work (2 works done).

Shortlisted consultants will be provided with detailed Terms of Reference (ToR) for the assignment and will be required to develop and submit comprehensive technical and financial proposals.
