Scope of Services
Community Liaison/Gender Officer
Job Purpose: Undertaking regular gender and SEA interventions including awareness and publicity
campaigns including timely and emergency reports on these issues including providing counselling
to the affected persons and families.
Location: Jenda, Mzimba
Qualification:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree obtained from an accredited institution with three years’ experience in a similar position.
Reports to: Coordinator
Responsibilities
1. Mapping of relevant stakeholders addressing GBV/SEA/VAC.
2. Lead community/stakeholder partnerships as appropriate and mainstream gender and safeguarding related aspects in the project implementation.
3. Mobilizing and engaging communities, first point persons for complaint referencing.
4. Refer the affected survivors to appropriate counsellors and institutions with strict
confidentiality and sensitivity of the human rights abuse and health cases.
5. Review and update the gender, GBV/SEA/VAC action plan, M&E and Reporting of CEWAG projects.
6. Stakeholder consultation, support capacity of local systems to prevent and respond to GBV/SEA, strengthening the reporting mechanisms & procedures of local systems.
7. Strengthen a survivor centered referral and response, coordination for better services with
local/national GBV/SEA service providers.
8. Conduct sensitization and outreach to schools on the risks of GBV/SEA/CAE within 5km from the centre of the M1 road.
9. Report to the Coordinator incidences of the GBV/SEA/CAE within 24 hours of getting the same, verbally followed by a written report.
