Background
The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawian (particularly women, youth, and persons with disability) through the provision of quality, affordable and sustainable microfinance services for better health. NEEF invites applications from suitably qualified, mature, ambitious and professional Malawi Nationals with a passion for results to the NEEF team and fill the following vacant position:
Job Description
- To be responsible for implementing and overseeing risk management and compliance strategies and compliance framework to ensure adherence to regulatory standards while mitigating the Fund risks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and executing NEEF’s risks management strategies.
- Overseeing mitigating factors to the risks associated with the current and proposed future business activities, including new products, and new business relationships before their formal undertaking.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complaints, risk and compliance matters.
- Coordinating the development of training programs to enhance staff awareness of risk and compliance protocols.
- Monitoring compliance of internal policies, external regulations and industrial standards, ensuring the effective implementation of compliance programs
- Overseeing documentation related to risk assessments, compliance audits and incident investigations and submitting them to the Risk and Compliance Manager.
- Implementing essential policies, laws, regulations and guidelines that governs the business of NEEF.
- Integrating risk management practices into NEEF’s operational areas
- Compiling and submitting monthly comprehensive risk and compliance reports to the Risk and Compliance Manager highlighting the compliance status and risk trends of current and emerging risks and mitigating factors.
Qualification and Experience
- Masters in Accounting, Economics, Business Information Technology, Legal, Business Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Audit or any risk-related field from an NCHE accredited institution;
- 3 years of working experience
