JOG Enterprise
JOG Enterprise is local fundraising arm of Saint John of God Hospitaller Services – a non-profit, faith-based health and social care organization established in 1994 to contribute to the development of health for all Malawians by providing comprehensive community mental health care and disability inclusion services targeting the most vulnerable, marginalized and excluded groups in the society. The initiative offers landscape development and maintenance services, catering and conference facilities, cleaning and screen-printing services. Proceeds from the business help subsidise cost of medication and care services for persons with mental illness, disabilities, older persons and vulnerable others entrusted in our care within our facilities in both Lilongwe and Mzuzu. In addition, Saint John of God uses these services as part of therapeutical rehabilitation for persons recuperating from mental illness, those with disabilities and other vulnerable persons and to economically empower such
persons by providing them with supported employment. JOG Enterprise has the following vacant positions available at its business premises, clients’ offices, guest houses and lake cottages in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mangochi, Salima and Karonga.
Chef – Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mangochi, and Salima (15 positions)
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all kitchen operations and ensure adherence to the company policies, procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain the highest standards of food preparation, presentation and service to meet guest
expectations. - Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish.
- Able to enforce safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Capacity to create new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
Requirements:
- Malawi School Certificate of Education
- Diploma in Food production, Hotel Management and Catering from a recognized tertiary education institution
- Those with Advanced Certificate in Hotel Management and Catering from a recognized institution with at least 5 years work experience will have added advantage
- Strict adherence to our Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy.
