Bancassurance Officer (TPS DEPARTMENT)

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Bancassurance Manager, the position holder will be responsible for implementation of all transactional Support Services for NBS Bancassurance portfolio and achieve targets in line with departmental strategy.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Handles end to end transactional support services on Bancassurance covering underwriting , service monitoring, claims and support ,as need arises.
  • Provides inputs for policy review based on practical experiences in the Bancassurance space and industry best practices.
  • Works closely with Key internal and external stakeholders e.g. NICO General and NICO Life to support and manage sales for bancassurance products.
  • Participates in annual budget formulation, implementation and monitoring.
  • Provides direct support to customers, addressing queries, explaining insurance products, and assisting with claims.
  • Promotes insurance products to customers through approved selling plans.
  • Facilitates the processing of insurance claims recovery in line with turnaround times.
  • Provides support around packaging bancassurance products in line with client’s requirements to increase revenue
  • Provides product information (e.g. product pricing and benefits) to Branches and ensure availability of product brochures.
  • Monitors customer complaints and resolution in line with agreed turnaround times
  • Regularly checks accuracy and completeness of insurance documentation, minimizing errors and legal risks
  • Offers after-Sales Support: Post-sale assistance, ensuring customers remain satisfied with insurance policies.

Qualifications, Experience and desired competences

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance Management, Business management, Finance, Economics or any related field from recognized tertiary institutions. Progress towards ACII qualification (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London) is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in insurance management.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and services.
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
