Introduction
The Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome (MLW) Programme (http://www.mlw.mw) is internationally recognised centre for research and research training, funded by the Wellcome Trust. In collaboration with the University of Malawi, College of Medicine (COM), MLW would like to engage the services of a competent and dynamic individual to work in exciting Research Programme (SALMONELLA GROUP) at the MLW Research facility as it is expanding.
Project Administrator (SALMONELLA GROUP) 1 post, based in Blantyre (initial 2 year contract)
Job Summary
- The incumbent will be responsible for the day to day administrative and project management support of the Salmonella group.
Key Responsibilities
- First point of contact for the Group, with both outward and inward facing duties.
- Providing administrative support for the Group, particularly supporting the Group Heads diary and professional administration, and offer admen advice for other individual PIs/ academics in the group.
- Supporting communication and cohesion within the group across cadres and across projects, particularly for those working flexibly or from home.
- Leading organization of meetings, including diary bookings, room preparation and projection, e-communications and teleconferencing, agenda preparation, minute taking and following up on action points.
- Supporting publication submission where relevant.
- Maintaining publications board and screen.
- Ensuring up-to-date database of publications using referencing software.
- Tracking group Equip score for publications.
- Supporting social media and other publicity for significant publications, in liaison with University of Liverpool.
Qualifications and Experiences
- Degree in Business Administration or other relevant field.
- Masters in related area is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with good project organization and implementation, financial and budget management, people and team skills, and communication skills (oral, written, electronic, teleconferencing and social media). Working with international organisations. Experience with effective virtual meetings. Experienced with managing email, electronic diaries, VOIP communications, “MS Office”, project management tools and social media platforms. Design skills would be an advantage.
