EDC designs, implements, and evaluates programs to improve education, health, and economic opportunity worldwide. EDC manages 250 projects in 30 countries.
EDC’s International Development Division (IDD) focuses on three major areas: literacy and basic education, youth livelihoods and workforce development, and health. Another key strand of EDC’s international work focuses on helping countries expand economic opportunity and build civic society. EDC works with governments, agencies, and other partners in 35 countries to develop programs that are respectful of cultural traditions and beliefs. The international division comprises six regional centers coordinating EDC’s work in West and Central Africa, East and Southern Africa, North Africa and the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and South and Southeast Asia.
At the moment, EDC is preparing for an internationally funded project to increase the adoption of positive behaviors related to climate change adaptation and sexual reproductive health and family planning among youth.
Chief of Party (COP) and Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP): The qualified applicants must have at least 5- 7 years of similar management and supervisory experience in terms of scale and scope with at least five years of progressively more responsible supervisory work experience. Demonstrated track record of achieving results in a development context. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders including government counterparts, to communicate goals and expectations to their teams, and to deliver timely and high quality oral and written analysis and reporting. Demonstrated capacity to oversee monitoring, evaluation and learning and assuring data quality, and for evidence based adaptive management. Leadership experience managing or evaluating cross-sector development programs. A bachelors’ degree in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred
Lead Program Management Specialist:
Climate Change Adaptation Reproductive/Family Planning: Qualified applicants must have at least 5-7 years of demonstrated technical capacity for overseeing implementation of adaptation activities including knowledge of the physical science of observed and projected climate change and associated development impacts, vulnerability analysis, and the design and implementation of adaptive response options or the Demonstrated technical capacity for overseeing implementation of reproductive health and family planning activities including a strong understanding of the country context including relevant efforts already underway, the constraints on youth access to these services, and the opportunities and limitations of behavior change communication approaches as a means of increasing access. Strong behavior change communication is central to activity objectives. Must possess relevant and demonstrated abilities to develop and disseminate age and context appropriate communication products and messages. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Specialist:
The qualified applicants must have experience overseeing a monitoring, evaluation and learning system of broadly comparable size and scope to that project. Demonstrated experience in relevant data collection and processing methodologies, and with regard to ensuring data quality. Demonstrated success and experience in monitoring results and indicators of education quality, access, and community engagement.
A master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) required in the social sciences or a related field. Previous experience in all necessary computer, database, statistical software, and analytical skills, particularly in issues related to monitoring and evaluation.
