FACTORY MANAGER

 

BACKGROUND

We create opportunities, foster entrepreneurship, and delivering impactful solutions to address the socio-economic challenges in Malawi. With a staff of over 590, we run schools, businesses, farms and a construction enterprise

Beehive Centre for Social Enterprise is on a mission to transform communities through innovative, purpose-driven enterprises. Our Likuni Phala factory in Chileka will produce high-quality, fortified porridge to support school feeding programs across Malawi, including our own Seibo Maria program, which feeds over 18,000 children daily.

As we scale up, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Factory Manager to lead our operations and drive excellence across all departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee all aspects of factory operations including production, maintenance, quality, HR, and logistics.

  2. Ensure production targets are consistently met while maintaining food safety, quality, and efficiency.

  3. Lead and manage a diverse team including supervisors, technicians, and support staff.

  4. Develop and implement factory policies, SOPs, and safety protocols in line with ISO22000, HACCP, and MBS standards.

  5. Drive continuous improvement, cost control, and preventive maintenance programs.

  6. Collaborate with Beehive senior management and external stakeholders to align factory output with program needs.

  7. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular operational reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.

  2. Minimum of 5–10 years of factory management experience in a food production environment.

  3. Proven track record in managing teams, setting production targets, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  4. Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP, and workplace safety standards.

  5. Excellent leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills.
