National AIDS Commission (NAC)
BACKGROUND
The National AIDS Commission (NAC) is a body corporate established in 2001 and reconstituted through the HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Management) Act No. 9 of 2018 with new functional roles. The Act mandates NAC to coordinate and provide leadership for the implementation of the National response to HIV and AIDS in Malawi.
An opportunity has arisen to engage qualified persons of Malawian origin to fill vacant positions tenable at NAC Office in Lilongwe.
NAC, therefore, invites applications from suitable candidates to fill the positions of:
DRIVER: 1 position – Permanent
Grade: N7
Reporting to: Assistant Administration Officer
Purpose of the job:
To drive and take care of vehicles with or without staff where and when required.
Duties and Key responsibilities:
- Driving vehicles as directed;
- Ensuring that the vehicles are clean, secure and in good running condition at all times;
- Maintaining an up-to-date vehicle log book;
- Reporting service dates and other details for vehicles; ensuring the vehicle has valid COF and insurance
- Assist in taking care of management vehicles
Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience
The applicant should possess the following;
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- Valid Driving License.
- Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Professional Drivers Permit
Personal Specification
The applicant should possess the following attributes.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
- Should be physically fit, of sober habits and good interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel widely and work odd hours.
- Have good eyesight.
- Courteous to passengers and other members of the public.
- Smart and presentable.
- Basic Technical knowledge of vehicle performance
