SENIOR INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER, TENABLE IN BLANTYRE.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head, Internal Audit and Management Services (IAMS), the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of independent, objective assurance and consulting services that add value and improve Ecobank’s operations in the everchanging digital world and the formulation of appropriate audit programs, completion of the audit plans as scheduled, generating final audit reports for internal and regulatory agency review, and conducting issue assurances.

Key Responsibilities.

• Perform continuous risk assessment of the bank’s business and operational entities and implement a responsive audit plan.
• Evaluate complex activities/processes to identify potential operational, financial, or compliance risks or potential fraud and provide reasonable assurance.
• Execute the audit planning process that is current and in line with Auditing Standards, Regulatory framework and best practice of risk-based auditing.
• Plan, direct and lead internal audits, special assignments/projects in line with the audit plan & in liaison with Audit Management.
• Conduct evaluation of Performance/controls on assigned Products and Services and make appropriate recommendations.
• Review and provide reasonable assurance on cost containment strategies and the profitability thereof. Draft audit reports and discuss with the Audit Manager/Head of Internal Audit Management, at the end of each audit assignment.
• Identify areas that require the strengthening of controls and make the necessary recommendations.
• Provide management with information regarding internal controls from control risk self-assessment (CRSA), risk self-assessment (RSA), and assurance programmes.

Experience and knowledge

• Five years’ experience in Audit field, financial services or banking. 
• Proficiency in Internal Auditing Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
• Knowledge of the Industry, data analysis tools e.g. ACL, SQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or other relevant field.
• CIA, ACCA, ICAM or any related professional certifications
