Head of ICT

The University of Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Head of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT). The Head of ICT shall provide strategic and operational management of ICT services in the University.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leading in the selection, application, and development of ICT technologies.

2. Developing instructional technology support based on ICT practices and instructional strategies.

3. Facilitating the use of ICT technologies in course design, procedures and pedagogical practices

4. Implementing quality control practices, monitoring ICT student satisfaction, retention and academic member of staff performance

5. Coordinating training and mentoring opportunities for academic members of staff engaged in designing, instructing, or reviewing online programmes

6. Managing budgets and resources of the unit

Minimum Education Qualification and Experience

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or ICT related field from an institution accredited or recognized under the National Council of Higher Education Act;

• Five (5) years of relevant work experience at manager position
