On behalf of our client, a prominent Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization, Southeastern Africa Consultants is looking for dynamic, results-driven professionals to join the team in the following roles:
1. Regional Manager
The Regional Manager will be based in Lilongwe. The incumbent will oversee branch operations across the network. The Regional Manager will ensure sustainable growth through excellent customer service, increased membership, and enhanced profitability while managing operational expenses, risks, and compliance. The role also involves driving the daily operations and performance of branches under their supervision.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Management of Branch Processes and Transactions
Ensure branches open and close on time.
Guarantee adequate resources for day-to-day operations.
Oversee end-of-day transaction balancing.
Ensure account opening/closing and operational procedures are followed.
Implement and action ICT audit reports.
2. Liquidity Management
Maintain liquidity in branches.
Ensure adherence to cash request procedures.
Authorize bank transactions and reconcile accounts.
Monitor adherence to C:D ratios.
3. Branch Network Performance Management
Drive membership recruitment and retention targets.
Achieve loan book growth targets and manage delinquency.
Ensure growth in savings, shares, and deposits.
Drive income growth and cost reduction, exceeding surplus targets.
4. Efficient and Effective Processes
Ensure adherence to procedures with speed and accuracy.
Promote productivity and minimize resource wastage.
5. Cost Containment
Implement strategies to reduce branch costs.
6. Human Resource Management
Ensure job descriptions, performance contracts, and appraisals are in place.
Initiate recruitment processes and identify training needs.
Plan leave schedules for the team and self.
7. Risk and Compliance Management
Supervise, review, and action reports.
Follow up on audit reports, including R&C, internal/external audits, and RBM evaluations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
At least three years of experience in a senior management position.
Proven team-building and performance management skills.
Results-oriented individual with a drive for high performance.
Strong knowledge and experience in risk management within the banking/financial services sector.
High levels of integrity, commitment, and professionalism.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
2. Branch Manager (5 Positions)
The Branch Managers will oversee the delivery of exceptional customer service, the recruitment and retention of members, and the achievement of financial growth while minimizing risks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Recruitment and Retention of Members
Drive initiatives to recruit new members and meet allocated targets.
Plan and implement retention strategies to minimize member exits.
2. Mobilization of Savings
Implement savings mobilization strategies to meet branch targets.
3. Growing a Healthy Loan Portfolio
Increase the branch’s loan portfolio while maintaining an acceptable delinquency ratio of ≤1%.
Ensure adherence to loan processing policies and turnaround times (TAT).
4. Managing Efficient and Effective Processes
Ensure branch operations adhere to set procedures, maintaining speed and accuracy.
Promote productivity while minimizing resource wastage.
5. Cost Containment
Plan and monitor branch resources to reduce operational costs.
Implement innovative strategies for productivity and profitability.
6. Financial Performance
Achieve branch financial performance metrics as per allocated targets.
7. People Management
Ensure all branch employees have performance contracts and appraisals.
Identify training needs and plan leave schedules for the team.
8. Risk Management
Action supervision reports from R&C and ICT audits.
Report branch issues to management promptly.
9. Reporting
Provide detailed reports on branch performance and other required data to management.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a business-related field.
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar or supervisory role.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proven coaching, mentoring, and feedback skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Determination and drive to achieve targets.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management best practices.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).

3. Satellite Centre Manager (4 Positions)
The Satellite Centre Manager will ensure the delivery of excellent customer service to SACCO members, drive recruitment of new members, promote financial growth, and mitigate risks.
Major Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities
1. Membership Growth
Lead recruitment initiatives to onboard new members across all satellite centers.
Plan and implement strategies to boost membership sales.
2. Savings Mobilization
Develop and execute savings mobilization strategies to meet targets for all satellite centers.
3. Loan Portfolio Growth
Drive the growth of a quality loan portfolio by meeting loan targets while maintaining an acceptable delinquency ratio.
4. Loan Processing
Ensure timely loan processing within the agreed turnaround time (TAT).
Adhere to loan processing policies and procedures.
5. Process Efficiency
Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with procedures, speed, and accuracy.
Optimize resources by minimizing waste and managing time effectively.
6. Performance Management
Ensure all satellite staff have performance contracts and undergo regular appraisals.
Identify and address training needs for teams.
Plan leave schedules for all satellite employees.
Manage and monitor Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for underperforming staff.
7. Risk Management
Implement recommendations from R&C department supervision reports.
Action ICT audit findings.
Regularly report branch issues and ensure compliance with risk management standards.
8. Reporting
Provide detailed performance reports of satellite centers to management as required.
9. Other Duties
Perform any additional duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in providing constructive feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Results-driven with the ability to work towards targets.
Sound business acumen and a professional demeanor.
Demonstrated leadership ability and team management skills.
Knowledge and experience in implementing best practices in organizational effectiveness and operations management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).
Budget development and financial oversight experience.
