JOB PURPOSE
To oversee all accounting operations and the financial activities of the Company. Have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, controlling, and reporting all accounting-related activities of the Company.
Duties and responsibilities.
Management of Financial Systems, Procedures and Controls
· Develop financial procedures and processes to improve efficiency.
· Timely prepare accurate financial information with the support of the accounting team.
· Ensure integrity of the accounting information by verifying, allocating, posting, and passing transactions.

· Prepare accurate accounting reports and presenting error-free results.
· Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
· Analyze the financial statements for any discrepancies and address the issues thereof.
· Identify areas that require corrective action and take appropriate action.
· Manage and maintain general ledgers.
· Analyze inter-company transactions, bank statements, and generate invoices.
· Ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, and reports are generated regularly
· maintaining proper accounts payable and accounts receivable systems, ensuring reconciliation of the same.
· Prepare and summarize all the transaction reports and financial status which includes a balance sheet, profit & loss statement.
· Present financial reports to senior management.
· Interpreting the company’s financial results and insights to management and recommending improvement activities.
· Take lead in the month-end and year-end closing process.
· Maintaining good relationship with internal and external customers such as auditors, banks, suppliers, and service providers and other stakeholders.
· Working with Heads of Departments to align internal processes and procedures to the needs of the company
· Review accounting systems, processes and make suggestions for improvements.
· Analysing financial information to recommend and developing efficient use of resources and procedures.
· Ensuring appropriate policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines are developed and enforced.
· Developing and enforcing controls and oversee procedures in issuing/making all payments and cheques.
· Ensuring that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with regulatory laws/regulations for financial and tax reporting and revenue assurance.
· Managing proper use of Company resources & implementing controls that control unnecessary costs.
· Stay up to date with the latest business trends.
Audits & Compliance
· Support in tax returns and tax audit.
· Ensuring internal control systems are followed inter alia proper approvals, checking subsidiary ledgers, and reconciling them to control accounts.
· Monitoring and ensuring compliance to all regulatory statutory requirements.
· Preparing & submitting statutory returns on time and reconciling them to control accounts.
· Ensuring payment of all statutory returns / obligations on time.
· Adhering to company policies and country laws/regulations and deadlines.
Main Qualifications
· Must have a Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.
· A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as an Accountant in a busy accounting department.
· Proficiency in generally used ERP accounting systems.
· Strong knowledge of non-profit tax filing and tax compliance pertaining to state and federal level regulations.
