Overview
Hema Construction Limited is urgently seeking experienced and motivated people to fill the
following position:
Post: Human Resources Officer
Location: Lilongwe
Reporting: HR and Administration Manager
Nature of job: Contract based but subject to renewal
Job brief
We are looking for a well experienced HR Officer who will recruit, support and develop talent through
developing policies and managing procedures. She /he will be responsible for Human resource tasks for all projects sites.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives, policies and systems in all projects sites.
- Will actively participate in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting adverts and managing the hiring process.
- Providing counseling on policies and procedures to new recruits
- Assist in performance management processes
- Active participation in developing training and development programs for employees in liaison with Heads of Departments.
- Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
- Maintain employee records eg employment contract documents for all skilled and unskilled labourers, attendance registers, leave, Pension, Medical Scheme, etc. according to policy and legal requirements.
- Assist in review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance.
Requirements and skills
- Minimum of a Diploma in Human Resources Management
- At least 5 years of work experience in a very busy work environment and strong knowledge of construction industry
- Strong ethics and reliability
- Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong command of both oral and written English
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
