Today it is a formidable organization with branches in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Mauritius and South Africa. We specialize in large scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.
We are currently in the market looking for a Materials Engineer for the M1 road rehabilitation project for our branch office in Malawi.
Job Summary
The materials Engineer will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction team with reference to all materials submittal, approvals, testing, sampling etc. He will participate in the quality control of all materials including all the laboratory and field testing, acceptance of used materials,checking and accepting all remedial and corrective measures.

Duties & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Materials testing issues on the project and ensuring smooth progress of works without delays.
- Providing engineering expertise to the team and the Project Manager.
- Record keeping of all tests documents and any other information for the project.
- Provide advice and guidance to the Site Manager and Site Agent on any technical issues which may be of importance to the project.
- Management of quality control on the project and any other issues as required in the contract documents.
- In charge of all laboratory tests, analysing and submitting results to the Site Manager or Site Agent who will then submit to the Resident Engineer.
- Any other duties which may be arranged by management from time to time.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- The applicant must hold a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent .
- At least 10 years of post graduate years of experience; out of which 7 years should be of similar work experience (working on road construction projects).
- Must have previous experience of supervising other employees and working in a team .
- Prior experience and willingness to work in a fast paced and stressful environment
