We specialize in large scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.

We are currently in the market looking for a Community Liaison Officer for the M1 road rehabilitation project for our branch office in Malawi.

Job Summary

The Community Liaison Officer will support the Site Manager in liaising with the local community and local government authorities to ensure the project can be implemented as per schedule and scope, addressing the day to day concerns of the community, updating on project’s progress and plans etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Facilitating the smooth liaison between Mzimba District Assembly and other key stakeholders by maintaining regular contact and networking.
  • To keep the Contractor informed on relevant community affairs and other grievances.
  • To report weekly and monthly to the Contractor, the assembly and district structures with respect to the achievements of social economic development targets .
  • To manage the recruitment of casual workers and/or local subcontractors as well as assisting Supervisors in managing them.
  • Promptly resolve incidents and other events.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma or Bachelor of social science Degree in Social Work or its equivalent .
  • At least 7 years of post graduate years of experience; out of which 5 years should be of similar work experience (working on road construction projects).
  • Must have previous experience of supervising other employees and working in a team .
  • Prior experience and willingness to work in a fast paced and stressful environment
