Programme Officer- Right To Food

•  Ensures timely transfer of resources to benefitting agencies;
•  Ensures effective accounting for project expenses and delivery;
• Ensures accurate and timely reporting of financial expenditure.

Administrative support for the development of the Right to Food Agenda::

• Oversees the process of identifying the CSO’s who will be responsible for implementing the different aspects of the project in consultation with the project board, the OHCHR HumanRights Advisor and the Resident Coordinator’s Office:
• Coordinates the different dialogue structures necessary to ensure progress on the Right to Food agenda.

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting:

• Effectively supports grant recipients in their implementation
•  Effectively evaluates impact of selected programs and projects
•  Effectively reports to different fora, through narrative and written reports, on progress made.

Substantive support for the development of the Right to Food Agenda:

• Assists in facilitating national debate and dialogue to build awareness on Right to Food policies, strategies and programs
• Assists in ensuring best practices are identified and widely disseminated
•  Effectively advocates for the full realization of the Right to Food in Malawi

Advocacy/Advancing A Policy-Oriented Agenda

• Identifies and communicates relevant information for a variety of audiences for advocating the Right to Food agenda

Results-Based Programme Development and Management

• Assesses project performance to identify success factors and incorporates best practices into project wor
• Researches linkages across programme activities to identify critical points of integration
• Moniitors specific stages of projects/programme implementation
• Analyzes country situation to identify opportunities for project development

Building Strategic Partnerships

• Maintains an established network of contacts for general information sharing and to remain up-to-date on partnership related issues
• Analyzes and selects materials for strengthening strategic alliances with partners and stakeholders

Resource Mobilization

• Providing inputs to resource mobilization strategies
• Analyzes information/databases on potential and actual donors
• Develops a database of project profiles.  Identifies opportunities for project proposals for presentation to donors

• Generates new ideas and proposes new, more effective ways of doing things
• Documents and analyses innovative strategies/best practices/new approaches

• Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field.
• 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems
