Field Officer
FISD has been awarded a grant by the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Environment and Natural Resources Management and Social and Gender Enhancement Fund for the implementation of a 3 yrs ‘integrated Approaches to Natural Resources Management and conservation for Sustainable Hydo-Power (INA-Co-SH) Project’ in Blantyre district. The project will afforestation and introduce sustainable income generation activities in the targetted areas as a way of ensuring natural resources conservation
FISD invites applications from suitably qualified individuals who are ready to serve as Field Officer for the program to be based at Lirangwe/Lunzu
Within delegated authority, the Field Officer will among other things be responsible for Responsible for coordinating the implementation of the project in accordance with the program’s s design, Strengthening community’s capacity in planning and managing the programme, Building the capacity of communities to program activities beyond donor support, performing other related duties as required
Diploma in Natural Resources Management/Agriculture with minimum of 5 yrs of practical experience or Degree in natural resources management or agriculture with 3 yrs of experience, At least 3 yrs professional experience of working with rural communities in natural resources management related interventions including but not limited to tree planting and agro-forestry, promotion of fel efficient stoves and fire briquettes, Village Savings and Loans (VSL) and livestock pass-on programmes, Good knowledge and understanding of key aspects of development work, including food, nutrition and livelihood security, cross cutting themes, (e.g. gender, environment, HIV/AIDS) and integration of disaster mitigation and climate change response in development programming, Computer literate, Ability to drive a motor cycle, those with motorcycle driving licence and vast experience in motor cycle during on long distances will have an added advantage
