Job Summary
The Operations Manager operationalize the NGO’s business strategies. S/he will work with the CEO, staff of 12 employees and contractors, and Board of Directors to scale-up the organization from annual delivery of 2,000 systems to 25,000 over the next 2 years.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience in successive management roles
● Passion for SolarKuMidzi’s mission
● Experience in policy setting and organizational management
● Understanding of NGO, solar industry and human resources compliance requirements
● Able to approach business with flexibility, creativity and interest in bringing systematic approach to operations
● Able to diagnose problems quickly, foresee potential issues and build consensus on solutions
● Understanding of financial management, accounting and regulatory issues
● Analytical mind with solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
● Able to negotiate contracts and say “no”
● Experience supervising and hiring staff and contractors with commitment to staff development
● Well organized, with excellent project management skills and attention to detail
● Clear verbal and written communication skills in Chichewa and English
● Curiosity, humility, low ego, and high emotional intelligence
● Position is in-person, not remote, in our Blantyre workshop and office
