Position: Mathematics and Physics Teacher (Sciences)
Location: Thyolo
Harris is a Christian School with Christian values and a leading educational institution dedicated to fostering academic excellence and personal growth. The school is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mathematics and Physics teacher to join our teaching team.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics and Physics to students in forms 1-4.The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Mathematics and Physics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics and Physics to students in forms 1-4
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum
- Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
- Administering weekly,mid-term, and end of term examinations
- Counseling students, supervising students during study and sports
- Maintaining discipline among students
- Organizing extra-curricular activities
- Participating in all staff meetings, and performing any other duties as assigned by the headmaster.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics or a related field
- Teaching certification or qualification
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics and Physics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preference
- Retired teachers with experience in teaching in a diverse and inclusive learning environment are strongly encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with curriculum design and implementation
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom
