Managing Director – Yembekeza Foundation (Lilongwe, Malawi)

The Yembekeza Foundation is a Malawian-based organization dedicated to connecting sponsors and donors with impactful local projects. We guide our international partners in supporting education, health, and community initiatives, ensuring transparency, accountability, and lasting results.

We are seeking a Managing Director to provide strategic leadership, strengthen donor relations, and oversee our local partnerships. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable development in Malawi while serving as the link between international supporters and local communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall management and strategic direction of the foundation.

• Strengthen relationships with sponsors and donors, mainly from the Netherlands and Belgium.

• Ensure transparent financial management and high-quality reporting.

• Coordinate and support local projects and partner organizations in Malawi.

• Represent Yembekeza Foundation at both national and international levels.

• Oversee a small, motivated team and ensure effective operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven leadership experience in NGOs, development cooperation, or a related field.

• Strong project management and financial oversight skills.

• Excellent communication and intercultural skills.

• Dutch language proficiency is highly preferred, as most donors and sponsors are Dutch-speaking.

• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

• Commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development.

Location

Lilongwe, Malawi (with occasional travel within Malawi).
