Enumerators (15 positions) – Plastic Waste Mapping Survey
Project: FINLOOP Project

1) Background

WASTE Advisers Malawi has partnered with WASTE Netherlands to implement the project called Financial Inclusion of Improved Livelihoods Out Of Plastics (FINLOOP) in Lilongwe City. The project aims to promote inclusive circular economies and support businesses and informal waste workers engaged in plastic waste management.


2) Purpose of the Assignment

The study aims to map key actors, quantify plastic waste flows, and identify challenges and opportunities within the plastic value chain to guide interventions for the project.


3) Key Responsibilities

  • Attend training and pilot survey tools.

  • Collect field data using digital data collection tools.

  • Interview households, businesses, recyclers, aggregators, manufacturers.

  • Conduct compositional analysis of household and institution waste.

  • Record accurate and complete responses.


4) Qualifications

  • Diploma (minimum) in Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, Community Development, Social Sciences, or related fields.

  • Should have a smartphone that supports basic data collection tools.

  • Experience in digital data collection.

  • Knowledge of waste management or environmental sustainability (added advantage).

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Familiarity with Lilongwe City.
