Organisation Background
Export Development Fund (EDF) is a development finance institution (DFl) mandated to promote the growth as well as diversification of the country’s exports. EDF’s mission is to support the Malawi economy through provision of foreign trade solutions to facilitate export diversification, international competitiveness and inclusive growth. EDF also plays a leading role in job creation by investing in ambitious projects and initiatives with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of Malawi’s exports.
EDF’s young and dynamic team is motivated towards the collective goal of transforming Malawi’s exporting sector for accelerated economic development.
Exciting opportunities have arisen for energetic and innovative individuals to join EDF. We are therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:
DRIVER
The driver’s role is to support EDF’s operations by providing safe, secure and timely driving services to the organisation’s staff and/ or goods. Reporting to the Administration Assistant, the Driver’s responsibilities shall include, but not limited to the following:
- Transport persons, goods and documents, including mail
- Facilitate airport pickups/drop-offs for VIP visitors and local transportation during official visits
- Keep track and facilitate renewal of motor vehicle licenses (COF) and insurance.
- Maintain motor vehicle records (fuel usage, repairs, tyre replacement) and keep track of general maintenance schedules.
- Conduct routine motor vehicle inspection and ensure that motor vehicles are roadworthy.
- Maintain cleanliness of all assigned motor vehicles and other working tools.
- Update monthly mileage records – maintain logbook of each motor vehicle on daily basis
- Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors from time to time.
Qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies
Applicants must possess the following qualifications, competencies and behaviors at a minimum:
- A Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) and PG Driver’s License.
- Over 5 years driving experience.
- Ability to manage time and confidential information.
- Sober habits, presentable character, good personal hygiene, courteous and customer focused.
- Ability to manage working tools
- Those that have attended Defensive Driving Training and/ or Chauffer courses in the past 2 years will have an added advantage.
